Fuse Recruitment is helping a leading Australian insurer hire a Home Assessing Team Leader to lead, coach and develop a team of Home Assessors, driving quality, consistency and customer outcomes across the claims function.

You will blend home assessing or residential building expertise with leadership exposure, shaping best practice and advancing your career in a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and strong stakeholder partnerships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading, coaching and mentoring a professional team.
• Previous Home Assessing, estimating or residential building experience— essential
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Home Assessing or the Building Industry
• Demonstrated ability to manage performance, provide constructive feedback and develop team capability
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Insurance or claims experience is preferred, but not essential

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor a team of Home Assessors to deliver high-quality claims outcomes
• Provide technical guidance across scoping, cost validation, compliance and assessment practices
• Monitor team performance against key quality, productivity and customer service KPIs
• Manage escalated claims, complaints and complex customer or stakeholder matters
• Drive continuous improvement across Home Claims processes, systems and ways of working
• Identify opportunities to improve cost control, efficiency and overall claims performance
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including builders, restorers and industry partners
• Support capability development, performance management, recruitment and workforce planning
