Fuse Recruitment has partnered with a leading Australian insurer to recruit a Home Assessing Team Leader who will lead, coach and develop a team of Home Assessors while driving quality, consistency and customer outcomes across claims.

This role blends home assessing expertise with genuine leadership exposure, enabling you to influence best practice and advance your leadership career within a supportive claims environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading, coaching and mentoring a professional team.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Insurance or claims experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor a team of Home Assessors to deliver high-quality claims outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance across scoping, cost validation, compliance and assessment practices.
• Monitor team performance against quality, productivity and customer service KPIs.
• Manage escalated claims, complaints and complex customer matters.
• Drive continuous improvement across Home Claims processes and systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost control, efficiency and overall claims performance.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including builders and industry partners.
• Support capability development, performance management, recruitment and workforce planning.

Who will you be working with?

You’ll be joining an established Home Claims function with a strong focus on customer outcomes, technical quality and continuous improvement. You’ll work alongside experienced claims professionals and industry stakeholders in a collaborative environment where ideas are encouraged, and development is supported. What will you be doing?

• Lead, coach and mentor a team of Home Assessors to deliver high-quality claims outcomes
• Provide technical guidance and support across scoping, cost validation, compliance and assessment practices

What do you need?

• Proven experience leading, coaching and mentoring a professional team
• PreviousHome Assessing, estimating or residential building experience— essential
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Home Assessing or the Building Industry
• Demonstrated ability to manage performance, provide constructive feedback and develop team capability
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Insurance or claims experience is preferred, but not essential
