Be Recruitment Group in Mount Isa is seeking a Team Leader to guide a local team connecting individuals and families with services and community networks across Mount Isa. You will blend people leadership with community engagement to support day-to-day service delivery and build partnerships with local organisations.

This role offers hands-on leadership that strengthens referral pathways, supports outreach to people facing barriers, and ensures consistent intake, assessment, and referral

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in community services or related settings.
• Diploma or higher qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in community engagement or service coordination.
• Ability to develop partnerships and represent a service.
• Commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice including engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Sound judgement and understanding of risk management.
• Strong communication, organisation and administration skills.
• Current driver licence and willingness to travel.

Strong community services depend on people knowing where to turn and feeling comfortable asking for help.

We’re seeking a Team Leader to guide a local team connecting individuals and families with services and community networks across Mount Isa.

Combining people leadership with community engagement, you’ll support day-to-day service delivery, build partnerships and help create a welcoming space where people can access information and support.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to staff
• Coordinating community hub activities, drop-in sessions and information sessions
• Building relationships with local health, mental health, disability and community organisations
• Strengthening referral pathways and identifying gaps in available support
• Supporting outreach to people who may face barriers to accessing services
• Guiding consistent intake, assessment, support planning and referral practices
• Supporting staff to respond to complex situations and elevate concerns appropriately
• Using participant feedback and service information to improve delivery
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reporting requirements

About you

You’re approachable, practical and confident bringing people together. You enjoy supporting a team while staying connected to the community and the services it needs.

You’ll Bring

• Experience leading, supervising or mentoring staff in community services or a related setting
• A Diploma or higher qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or equivalent community sector experience
• Experience in community engagement, service coordination or supporting individuals and families
• Confidence developing partnerships and representing a service at local networks
• A commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice, including engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
• Sound judgement, professional boundaries and an understanding of risk management
• Strong communication, organisation and administration skills
• A current driver licence and willingness to travel as required

Knowledge of Mount Isa and surrounding communities would be highly regarded. Experience across mental health, disability, AOD, family services or other human services settings would also be valuable.
