Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking a Learning Manager to shape learning strategies that drive operational excellence and outstanding customer outcomes across the group. You will lead a team of training professionals, design innovative learning programs, and ensure alignment with business goals across multiple AOCs.

The role emphasizes strategic partnering with senior leaders and delivering high-quality, compliant training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in learning, development, or training leadership.
• Experience in an operational environment, preferably aviation.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Learning & Development strategy across Customer Care and Recoveries.
• Act as a trusted advisor and strategic business partner to senior leaders, providing expert L&D guidance and solutions.
• Drive training governance, framework development, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee planning, forecasting, budgeting and resource management for training programs.
• Collaborate with operational leaders, workforce planning teams and project stakeholders to balance training delivery with operational requirements.
• Lead learning transformation programs, leveraging technology and innovative learning methodologies to improve capability and efficiency.
• Ensure all learning solutions meet regulatory, safety, service and operational requirements.
• Conduct external benchmarking and industry scanning to identify and implement best-practice learning approaches.
• Manage training-related audits, safety investigations and business resilience initiatives.
• Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, development, engagement and performance management of team members.
