Job summary

Just Better Care in Rutherglen is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for in-home aged care and disability support. The casual role covers three shifts: Morning 8am–2pm, Afternoon 2pm–10pm, and Sleepover 8pm–10am, with pay rates from $34.99–$40.00 for weekdays, $39.19–$43.71 for weeknights, and $48+ for weekends/holidays.

Primary duties include personal care, social support, transport, light domestic tasks, equipment assistance and monitoring client wellbeing.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for dedicated Support Worker to join a team near the Wangaratta area to work with a customer that requires full time care.

The roster for this team is broken up into 3 time slots

• Morning - 8am to 2pm
• Afternoon - 2pm to10pm
• Sleepover - 8pm to 10am

Pay rates range from

• Weekdays - $34.99 - $40.00 per hour
• Weeknight - 39.19 - $43.71 per hour
• Weekend and Public holiday rates - $48.00+ per hour

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
• Social support/transportation for social activities, shopping, travelling to medical appointments
• Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, meal preparation
• Supporting the customer in the use of aids and personal equipment
• Supporting the customer with complex and/or challenging needs
• Monitoring the well-being of the customer and reporting on their progress
• Provide updates on the customer's progress following each service

About you:

• Experience in the field is an advantage
• Good interpersonal skills & written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to build rapport & good working relationships
• Comfortable using technology (i.e. mobile app) for accessing rosters & recording customer notes/feedback

What you will need:

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance / Criminal Record Check
• Current First Aid certificate/CPR
• Current Australian Drivers License
• Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle
• Smart phone with internet access
• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support or Disability Services
• Medication Administration certificate is an advantage
