Job summary

My Flex Health is seeking Home Care Support Workers to join our vibrant community team. You will provide person-centred care to elderly clients in their homes, following personalised care plans and supporting daily living tasks.

The role requires travel to multiple clients each day, assisting with transport, meal preparation, light cleaning, social activities, and adherence to policies. Casual day and evening shifts are available seven days a week with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support/Ageing required.
• Minimum 3 months of industry experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy with elderly clients.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle with insurance.
• Current National police clearance or NDIS Worker Screening preferred.
• NDIS Orientation preferred; Working with Children Check preferred/essential if also in disability.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Current Manual Handling training as applicable (in-house).

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care to elderly clients in their homes.
• Assist with personal care and daily living tasks per care plans.
• Support transportation and accompany clients to community activities.
• Assist with cleaning, cooking, and general household tasks as needed.
• Travel between multiple clients daily following duty lists and policies.

What is involved in this role?

As a Home Care Support Worker, you’ll provide exceptional, person-centered care to enhance the lives of our beloved elderly clients right in the comfort of their homes, all while following their personalised care and support plans. Your responsibilities span a wide range, from personal care and transportation to social assistance that enables clients to participate in community activities. You’ll also assist our clients with cleaning and cooking tasks, all in alignment with our duty lists, policies, procedures, and, most importantly, our client’s preferences.

Providing support to our elderly clients living in the community involves traveling to multiple clients per day and providing varied support in their own homes

The ideal candidate will have:

• Certificate III in Individual Support/Ageing
• 3 months of industry experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• A Valid Australian driver’s licence
• Reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance
• Current National police clearance or NDIS Worker Screening* (preferred)
• NDIS Orientation (preferred)
