Job summary

A W Edwards, a multi-award-winning builder with over 105 years of experience in Australia, is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our Leadership Group and shape the future direction and growth of the business.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will lead business development, marketing and growth initiatives while managing the business development pipeline and project opportunity conversion.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing opportunities from initial lead through to successful project award and close-out.
• Experience in business development, project delivery and/or pre-construction.
• Strong ability to build and maintain a high-conversion business pipeline.
• Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of how to structure offers and manage commercial risk.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company's business plan.
• Identify target sectors, projects, clients and emerging market opportunities.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, business partners and industry stakeholders.
• Develop and proactively manage the business development pipeline.
• Lead the development of win strategies for key opportunities.
• Drive EOIs and tender outcomes and achieve high levels of project conversion.
• Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to Executive Management.
• Strengthen the company's external brand and market position.
• Develop and deliver client engagement and marketing initiatives.
• Provide leadership during EOI and tender processes where required.
• Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to understand project performance and strengthen client relationships.
• Contributing to innovation, value-management solutions and industry-leading tender submissions.
