Job summary

A W Edwards is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support operational leaders across NSW construction projects. You will partner with Senior Project Directors and site leaders to deliver strategic HR expertise in a fast-paced, site-based environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, you will partner closely with Project Directors, operational leaders, and corporate stakeholders to deliver strategic and operational HR support across multiple construction projects.

This role requires strong employment relations capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, site-based environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior operational leaders across construction projects
  • Provide strategic and operational HR advice
  • Execute the delivery of day-to-day HR Operations and act as the first point of contact for all HR enquiries.
  • Lead employee relations matters
  • Respond to and resolve employee grievances and disputes in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to managers on performance and disciplinary matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on applicable employment legislation and support with the interpretation and application of these.
  • Conduct and manage workplace investigations
  • Drive workforce planning and talent strategiesDevelop and maintain HR policies & procedures ensuring compliance with applicable legislation
  • Support mobilisation and project ramp-up activities
  • Assist Recruitment Manager with recruitment activities
  • Coach leaders on people management and compliance
  • Workers compensation management
  • Contribute to culture, engagement, and leadership initiatives
  • Employee lifecycle management
  • Successful deployment of business initiatives
About You
  • 8+ years HRBP experience within construction, infrastructure, mining, engineering, or industrial sectors
  • Strong ER/IR capability and experience with Australian employment law landscape
  • Workers Compensation management experience
  • Experience supporting blue-collar and site-based workforces
  • Exposure to unionised environments
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong conflict resolution and coaching capability
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or related discipline essential
