Job summary

Amazon in Australia is seeking a Senior Vendor Manager for the Books category. You will own the category P&L, drive growth with supplier partners, and expand the brand portfolio.

The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, forecasting, and strong stakeholder management across internal teams and external vendors. You will build strategic relationships, lead negotiations, and ensure timely onboarding of new brands while focusing on long-term profitability and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience.
• Experience in making data driven business decisions.
• Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams.
• 6+ years of Microsoft Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the category P and L, conducting thorough financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
• Act as the primary new business developer for assigned categories/brands, maintaining comprehensive understanding of internal and external variables — including forecasting, analysis, and reporting on prospecting, conversion, and terms negotiations.
• Drive selection expansion opportunities to maximise Amazon's business and financial profitability.
• Champion customer needs through data-driven insights, advocating for and implementing site features that enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for vendor onboarding and ensuring smooth transition to category teams.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration, maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders while meeting tight deadlines.
• Demonstrate deep industry knowledge — understanding seasonality, business trends/events, and continuously monitoring competitor/industry developments.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, effectively prioritising tasks while simultaneously operating in both tactical and strategic modes.
