Job summary

Queensland Rail Limited is seeking a Station Assistant to support a small team in delivering exceptional customer service at the station and with QR Travel operations. The role includes assisting with luggage handling, cleaning, and platform management, plus occasional long drives to connect team members across depots.

This temporary full-time position runs until August 2027, requiring flexibility across early hours, weekends and public holidays. A current C Class driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and customer focus.
• Sound computer skills.
• Safe and proactive approach to tasks.
• Willingness to perform manual tasks including lifting up to 20 kg.
• Previous customer service or cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload customers and luggage for arrivals/departures.
• General cleaning and maintenance of the station and facilities.
• Provide platform announcements and manage platforms.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to travellers and the local community.
• Operate station machinery and equipment.
• Answer phones and report safety concerns to the Operations Coordinator.
