Job summary

Queensland Rail is seeking a Station Assistant to join a small team and deliver exceptional customer service at the station and QR Travel fleet. You will assist with loading/unloading passengers, maintain station cleanliness, manage platform activities and make announcements.

This temporary full-time role runs until August 2027 and may require travel to Rockhampton, Maryborough and Gympie for crew movement.

Qualifications

• Current C Class Drivers Licence is required.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and lift luggage up to 20 kg.
• Previous customer service or cleaning experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and unloading customers and luggage for train arrivals and departures.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the station, facilities, baggage areas and trains as required.
• Provide platform announcements and manage platform activities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to travellers and the local community.
• Operate station machinery and equipment as directed.
• Answer phones and report safety concerns to the Operation Coordinator.
• Support relocation of team members to different depots when needed.
