Job summary

Canva is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the native infrastructure that powers our mobile platforms. You will define and shape the Bazel build rules, monorepo strategy and release tooling, enabling reliable mobile releases at scale.

You’ll lead cross-team initiatives, migrate mobile repos into a cohesive monorepo, and set high standards for CI/CD and build quality across iOS and Android.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on expertise with Bazel, Gradle, or Xcode build systems at production scale.
• Track record delivering complex projects spanning multiple teams.
• Strong native mobile background (iOS/Android) with cross-platform tooling viewpoint.
• Experience owning CI/CD or release pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own Bazel build rules, React Native bundling, and codegen.
• Mature mobile release tooling including OTA and staged rollout.
• Lead monorepo migration for mobile repos.
• Define CI/CD quality gates and pipeline stages.
• Collaborate across Mobile Workflows, Cross Platform, Build Platform and DevX.
