Job summary

Canva is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to drive the Portable Platform for mobile across iOS, Android and web, leading the re-architecture of the mobile stack and defining tooling and testing standards.

You will own the mobile development tooling, test automation framework, CI/CD quality gating, and cross-team collaboration to unify workflows, mentor teams, and hire top mobile talent.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) with knowledge of the other and cross-platform experience.
• Hands-on experience with React Native or similar cross-platform framework at scale.
• Experience shaping mobile test automation frameworks with adoption by multiple teams.
• Background in defining quality gating and CI/CD for mobile builds and device farms.
• Proven delivery of complex, cross-team technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Own mobile development tooling, architecture and roadmap across iOS and Android.
• Lead the mobile test automation framework and ensure cross-platform coverage.
• Define CI/CD quality gating and protect long-term mobile goals.
• Align Native Infra, Cross Platform and DevX to unify mobile workflows.
• Document mobile testing standards for Canva and teams.
