Job summary

Canva is seeking a mobile build infrastructure engineer to own and shape the native release foundations across iOS and Android. You will define the Bazel rules, React Native bundling, and codegen strategies, while guiding the monorepo migration and release tooling for mobile at scale.

You will set quality gates in CI/CD, drive cross-platform collaboration, and mentor teams to ensure durable, scalable foundations that support Canva's Portable Platform ambitions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Bazel/Gradle/Xcode at production scale.
• Experience delivering complex projects spanning multiple teams.
• Strong native engineering background in iOS/Android.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap for Bazel build rules, RN bundling and codegen.
• Mature mobile release tooling including OTA and staged rollout.
• Lead monorepo migration for mobile repos and ensure continuity.
• Set quality gates across the build pipeline and CI/CD.
• Evolve RN build pipeline to support web and mobile.
• Coordinate with Mobile Workflows, Cross Platform, Build Platform and DevX.
• Mentor engineers and codify durable standards.
