Job summary

Canva seeks a Principal Software Engineer to own the technical direction of our Mobile Platform, spanning React Native, iOS and Android. You will influence how shared abstractions are built and how the platform evolves to support hundreds of engineers and millions of users.

You’ll drive a migration to a unified hybrid architecture, ship production-ready foundations, and partner with senior engineers to scale adoption across Canva’s product teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale cross-platform mobile architecture.
• Proven track record migrating mature mobile products onto new platforms at scale.
• Strong technical leadership across multiple teams and staff-level engineers.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for Canva’s hybrid mobile platform across React Native, iOS and Android.
• Turn architecture into shipped code with foundations for performance and observability.
