Job summary

St Michael's Catholic Parish Primary School in Nowra invites applications for a permanent full-time Support Class Teacher. The position starts 28 January 2027 with an initial two-year placement in a dedicated Support Class, then possible reapplication within the Diocese of Wollongong system.

You will work with students with mild-to-moderate intellectual disabilities, autism and complex learning needs, ensuring personalised learning and strong wellbeing support in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Active Catholic, or supportive of Catholic education values.
• Qualifications to teach Religious Education, or willingness to study.
• Post-graduate studies in special/inclusive education or relevant experience.
• Understanding of curriculum frameworks and personalised learning adjustments.
• Collaborative curriculum planning for diverse learners.
• Experience with positive behaviour support for challenging behaviours.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with staff and families.
