Job summary

Catholic Education Office Diocese of Wollongong – Nowra NSW invites applications from suitably qualified educators for a permanent full-time Support Class Teacher position commencing 28 January 2027. This role includes an initial two-year placement in a dedicated Support Class.

You will work collaboratively to create a safe, inclusive learning environment for students with mild-to-moderate intellectual disabilities, autism, and complex learning needs requiring intensive interventions.

Qualifications

• Active Catholic or strong commitment to Catholic education ethos.
• Post-graduate study in special/inclusive education or significant related experience.
• Registered to teach with NESA (Level D accreditation within 5 years).
• Experience designing personalised learning adjustments for diverse learning needs.
• Strong collaboration and mentoring skills with staff, health professionals, and families.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dynamic team to provide safe, inclusive learning environments.
• Lead and mentor teaching staff and support personnel in personalised interventions.
• Work with external health professionals, parents and carers to tailor curriculum.
