Job summary

CivilPlus Constructions in Townsville invites a Site / Project Engineer to join our civil and marine infrastructure team. You will work with Project Managers, Supervisors and site crews to support delivery across North Queensland projects, from planning through to reporting.

Depending on experience, you will assist or lead the preparation of project plans, construction methodologies, ITPs and contract administration, while upholding quality, safety and environmental standards on site.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in civil/marine construction.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and civil plans.
• Experience with project planning and construction documentation.
• Experience with contract administration (Project Engineer level).
• Strong computer skills and project documentation systems.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within a project team.
• Current driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordination and delivery of civil construction projects.
• Prepare project plans, ITPs, work methods and project documentation.
• Ensure contractual, legislative, quality, safety and environmental requirements are identified and implemented.
• Assist with the coordination of site activities, resources, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts and relevant Australian Standards.
• Establish and maintain accurate project records, documentation and reporting.
• Assist with contract administration and project commercial requirements.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to project reporting.
• Monitor project performance through inspections, audits and reviews.
• Assist with procurement of materials, permits, licences and other project requirements.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Supervisors to establish effective construction procedures and work methods.
• Maintain effective communication between clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
• Identify project risks, issues and opportunities and assist with implementing appropriate corrective actions.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of CivilPlus' Project and Business Management Systems.

CivilPlus Constructions is a locally owned and operated Civil & Marine Infrastructure company based in Townsville. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Site / Project Engineer to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer looking to further develop their career while working across a diverse range of civil and marine infrastructure projects throughout North Queensland.

The level of appointment will be considered based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.

About the Role

As a Site / Project Engineer, you will work closely with our Project Managers, Supervisors, site teams, subcontractors and clients to support the successful delivery of our projects.

The role will be involved across project planning, construction delivery, quality, safety, environmental compliance, contract administration and project reporting.

Depending on your level of experience, you will either support or take greater responsibility for the preparation and implementation of project plans, construction methodologies and project management systems.

Key Responsibilities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A Degree or Diploma in Engineering, or relevant equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience within the civil/marine construction industry.
• Knowledge and understanding of civil construction specifications, plans and Australian Standards.
• Experience with project planning and construction documentation.
• An understanding of Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements within civil construction.
• Contract administration experience, particularly for candidates seeking appointment at Project Engineer level.
• Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and project documentation systems.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a project team.
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of responsibilities.
• Current Driver Licence.
