Job summary

S&you Australia seeks a Site Engineer to join our Brisbane civil construction team, working on infrastructure, demolition and remediation projects. The role targets an early-career engineer with 1+ year site experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and a proactive focus on safety, quality and documentation.

You will collaborate with Project Engineers, Project Managers and supervisors, gaining exposure to RFIs, QA processes and cost tracking while developing toward a Project Engineer role on

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Site Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Assist day-to-day site engineering activities.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and construction activities.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Assist with RFIs and technical queries.
• Complete site inspections and monitor construction progress.
• Support survey, set-out and quantity tracking activities.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation.
• Assist with ITPs, inspections and hold-point documentation.
• Track daily quantities, productivity and site progress.
• Liaise with supervisors, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Identify technical or construction issues and lift where required.
• Ensure work is undertaken in accordance with safety, quality and environmental requirements.

About The Role

We are recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a major national contractor within its growing Queensland operation.

Site Engineer - Civil Construction - Brisbane

This role will suit an early-career Civil Engineer with at least one year of site-based construction experience who is looking to build their career across complex civil, infrastructure, demolition, remediation and major construction projects.

You will work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, supervisors and subcontractors while gaining exposure to all aspects of site and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day site engineering activities
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and construction activities
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Assist with RFIs and technical queries
• Complete site inspections and monitor construction progress
• Support survey, set-out and quantity tracking activities
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation
• Assist with ITPs, inspections and hold-point documentation
• Track daily quantities, productivity and site progress
• Assist with procurement and material coordination
• Maintain site records, diaries and project documentation
• Support short-term programming and construction planning
• Assist Project Engineers with cost tracking and reporting
• Liaise with supervisors, subcontractors and project stakeholders
• Identify technical or construction issues and lift where required
• Ensure work is undertaken in accordance with safety, quality and environmental requirements

About You

To Be Considered, You Will Ideally Have

• Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Site Engineer
• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Previous contractor-side construction experience
• Exposure to civil construction, infrastructure or major construction projects
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
