Qualifications

  • At least 5 years' experience in civil construction, contract administration or tendering.
  • A Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Business, Commercial Law Administration, Contracts or related field.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction terminology and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, drawings and contract clauses.
  • Strong MS Office skills and experience with document control systems.
  • Experience preparing tender submissions and commercial schedules.
  • Excellent writing and formatting skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple deadlines with precision.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and subcontractor engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, review and administration of contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders and commercial agreements.
  • Prepare and coordinate subcontractor agreements and supporting contractual documentation.
  • Maintain contract, variation and commercial registers and documentation.
  • Monitor contract milestones, deliverables, insurances and expiry dates.
  • Assist with progress claims, variations, extensions of time and commercial correspondence.
  • Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings and conditions to identify requirements.
  • Coordinate end-to-end tender administration, including document collation, formatting and submission.
  • Prepare tender schedules, capability statements, compliance tables and supporting documentation.
  • Assist Estimators and Engineers with subcontractor quotes, supplier pricing and inputs.
  • Coordinate procurement documentation, RFQs and supplier communications.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready commercial records.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.

CivilPlus Constructions is a locally owned and operated Civil & Marine Infrastructure company based in Townsville. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and highly organised Contracts Administrator to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in civil construction, contract administration and tendering who enjoys working across multiple projects and supporting teams to achieve successful commercial outcomes.

About the Role

As our Contracts Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting CivilPlus’ commercial, contractual and tendering functions.

Working closely with our Estimators, Project Managers and Senior Management team, you will assist with contract administration, commercial documentation, procurement and tender submissions while ensuring records and processes remain accurate, compliant and aligned with company requirements.

This is a varied role suited to someone who has excellent attention to detail, understands the importance of strong contract/commercial administration and can confidently manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • At least 5 years' experience in civil construction, contract administration and/or tendering and contract support.
  • A Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Business, Commercial Law Administration, Contracts or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of civil construction terminology, processes and documentation.
  • The ability to interpret specifications, drawings, commercial conditions and contract clauses.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with spreadsheets, databases and document control systems.
  • Experience preparing tender submissions, commercial schedules and contract documentation.
  • Excellent document control, formatting and professional writing skills.
  • Strong Organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify commercial risks or inconsistencies.
  • An understanding of procurement processes and subcontractor engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of accuracy, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Current Driver Licence.
