Job summary

Bauen Civil Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer based in Brisbane to lead full project lifecycles for subdivision and civil works. You will programme and manage budgets, and work autonomously with site teams, clients and design partners to turn vision into built outcomes.

The role reports to the leadership team and will involve coordinating tendering, design coordination, take-offs, on-site delivery and closeout with a focus on safe, quality delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Civil Project Engineer or similar on subdivision or civil infrastructure delivered by a contractor.
• Proven ability to programme complex works – earthworks, roads, drainage, services.
• Strong cost management – build cost estimates and track through delivery.
• Proficient with MS Project, Excel.
• Autonomous, communicates clearly, and owns outcomes.
• Creative problem-solver, able to juggle multiple fronts while keeping detail.
• Current Driver's Licence and happy to be on site regularly.
• Confident with stakeholders including office, site teams, subcontractors, clients and authorities.

• Own the budget including take-offs, cost estimates, tracking actuals, value engineering.

• Manage subcontracts, procurement timelines and material staging to keep site moving.
• Solve problems creatively when the standard approach won’t work.
• Flag risks early with a solution attached – no late surprises.

Bauen Civil is growing our engineering team to deliver a strong pipeline of subdivision and civil infrastructure projects across South-East Queensland. We’re looking for an experienced Civil Project Engineer who can programme complex works, manage budgets, think creatively, and work with genuine autonomy to shape how we deliver. You’ll report to the leadership team and work with site teams, clients, and our design partners to turn vision into built outcomes.

Bauen Civil is a South-East Queensland-based civil contractor specialising in residential and industrial subdivision developments and urban civil infrastructure. We work across the full project lifecycle as principal contractor, primarily self-performing our civil works. About the role

Based at the head office in Brisbane, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle on subdivision and civil works; spanning from tendering and work-winning through design coordination, take-off, on-site delivery, and closeout. The role involves programming complex works (earthworks, roads, drainage, services), managing budgets and cash flow, and working autonomously to solve problems as they emerge. You'll work with a mix of personalities – site managers, trades, clients, consultants, and need to communicate clearly across all of them. This is a full-cycle role where you shape how we win work and deliver it.

• Strong cost management – you can build a cost estimate and track it through delivery
• Proficient with MS Project, Excel
• Work autonomously and own outcomes – you follow through, communicate clearly, and own your mistakes
• Creative problem-solver, organised enough to juggle multiple workfronts without losing the detail
• Current Driver's Licence and happy to be on site regularly
• Confident in communicating with a range of stakeholders; office and site employees, subcontractors, clients, authorities and the wider community
