Job summary

Resourceful Recruitment is seeking a Civil Project Engineer for a well-established civil contractor in Central Queensland. Based in Mackay, you’ll work on water, roads and industrial upgrades, partnering with PMs and senior engineers to deliver civil works.

You will review designs, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure QA/QC compliance while supporting planning and risk management on a 10/4 roster. Strong civil-engineering background and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or similar) is highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Engineer within a civil construction environment.
• Experience across water infrastructure, resources/oil and gas, or road infrastructure projects highly valued.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodology, quality systems and Australian Standards.
• Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with site teams, subcontractors and clients.
• Willingness to work a 10/4 roster based in Central Queensland.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support and technical oversight across active civil construction works.
• Review and interpret design drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site personnel to ensure works are delivered in line with program and specification.
• Undertake quality assurance and quality control processes, ensuring compliance with project and Australian Standards requirements.
• Support surveying, setout and as-constructed verification activities.
• Assist with program planning, resourcing and productivity tracking.
• Identify and manage on-site risks, ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with WHS requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders on-site.

The Opportunity

As a Civil Project Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic team of Project Managers and Senior Project Engineers to contribute to the engineering solutions.

Projects you will be working on

• Water infrastructure asset
• Oil and gas facility civil works
• Major road upgrades, including intersection works
• Renewable energy infrastructure projects

Key Responsibilities
