Job summary

Securitas is hiring an Electronic Security Technician to install, service and maintain electronic security systems for government, corporate and building clients.

You will participate in all stages from rough-in to commissioning, with training provided and a strong emphasis on quality, safety and proactive planning.

Qualifications

• NSW Security Industry Licence – subclasses 2B, 2C, 2D & 2E.
• Current Drivers Licence.
• Construction Induction – White Card.
• 10559NAT – Working Safely with Asbestos Containing Materials.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Previous experience in a similar electronic security technician role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undertake on-call and out-of-hours work.

About the Role

The Electronic Security Technician is responsible for the installation, service and maintenance of electronic security systems across a range of government, corporate and construction environments.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will undertake works across all stages of delivery, including rough-in, fit-off, commissioning, problem diagnosis and resolution, and preparation of job reports. Training will be provided on specific systems as required, with a strong understanding of electronic security principles expected.

The role requires a professional demeanour, strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to planning and delivering quality outcomes. A willingness to undertake on-call and out-of-hours work is also required.

Key Accountabilities

• Installation & Commissioning-Complete rough-in, fit-off, installation and commissioning of electronic security systems safely and to required standards.
• Service & Maintenance-Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues and complete service and maintenance works efficiently and professionally.
• Technical Expertise-Apply sound technical knowledge across electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intercoms, integration and networking.
• Planning & Organisation-Proactively plan upcoming works and ensure all required materials, tools, equipment and resources are available to complete jobs on time.
• Customer Service-Maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication, a courteous manner and a commitment to quality service.
• Documentation & Reporting-Prepare accurate job reports and maintain required documentation in accordance with company requirements.
• Teamwork & Communication-Work collaboratively with other technicians and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and delivery of works.
• Safety & Compliance-Follow all Securitas policies, procedures and applicable safety and compliance requirements.
• Professionalism & Accountability-Demonstrate reliability, confidence, strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively with or without supervision.
• Continuous Learning-Stay up to date with technology and confidently learn new systems, programs and processes as required.

Technical Skills & Experience

Experience or knowledge across the following areas will be highly regarded:

• Access Control-CCure, Lenel, Gallagher, Integriti, Tecom, Concept or similar systems.
• CCTV-IP camera technologies including Axis, Panasonic, Sony and similar platforms.
• Video Management Systems-Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon or similar.
• Intercoms-IP-based intercom solutions.
• Systems Integration-Understanding of high-level interfaces and integration between major security systems.
• Networking-Routing, switching topologies, VLANs and bandwidth calculations.
• Server Technologies- Understanding of server technologies and storage requirements.
