Job summary

Securitas Australia is seeking a Data Centre Security Officer in Sydney's NSW region to protect assets and ensure safe access control within a busy data centre environment. You will screen personnel, monitor alarms, manage keys and visitor systems, and respond to incidents with professional communication.

The role requires NV1 clearance or Baseline, a valid security license, excellent observational and client service skills, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am.

Qualifications

• NV1 clearance or Baseline required.
• Valid Security License (State) is required.
• Excellent communication and observational skills essential.
• Customer service experience is essential with strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Conflict resolution and basic IT skills (MS Suite) helpful.
• Greet visitors and assist as required; report writing and handovers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security screening of all personnel entering/exiting restricted areas.
• Monitor facility alarms including Class 5 alarms and Duress alarms; respond as needed.
• Investigate and respond to alarms; act as first responder and emergency manager.
• Manage keys, access control, and visitor management systems.
• Identify prohibited items and prevent their introduction or removal from restricted areas.
• Provide complete shift reports and proper handovers to supervisors.
• Perform on-foot and CCTV patrols; report hazards and incidents.

About the Role

Our client is a global Technology & Cloud Infrastructure host in a Data Centre environment. We are looking for professional and high-performing security officers.

The security team in theselocations playsan important role in ensuring that the client's data integrity is always maintained.As the first point of contact for visitors and contractors entering the facility, the Security team at these locations needsto leave a lasting impression of exceptional customer service.

• Casual Position -6AM-6PM / 6PM-6AM based on operational requirements.

The Security Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

• Conduct security screening of all personnel entering and exiting a restricted area
• Monitor facility alarms and security system Class 5 alarms, Security portal resets, Duress alarms
• Investigating and responding to alarms, first responders to the incident and emergency managementincluding First Aid
• Management of keys/cards, Access Control System and Visitor Management Systems
• Identify prohibited items and prevent them from being introduced to or removed from a restricted area
• Provide complete and accurate shift reports and task handover to Customer Service & Security Supervisor
• Physical (on foot) and Virtual (on CCTV) patrols of assigned areas and report hazards and incidents

Skills and Experience

Candidates must meet the following job criteria:

• Hold a Valid Security License in respective State (Class 1A or equivalent)
• NV1 clearance or Baselineis required
• Excellent communication skills and observational skills
• Customer service experience is essential with strong multi-tasking abilities
• Conflict resolution, negation skills and intermediate PC skills (MS Suite) required
• Exceptional customer service standards, greet visitors, and employees and assist as required
• Compliance of all relevant company policies and procedures
• Protection of premises occupants, protection of real and personal property
• Report writing and Site patrol duties and experience communicating via two-way radio
• Must be punctual, responsible and lead by example – support a safety and compliance culture
