Job summary

Securitas is seeking a Data Centre Security Officer NV1 for casual shifts in NSW. You will monitor access, patrol, operate CCTV and alarms, respond to incidents, and support a safe, secure data centre environment.

The role requires Australian citizenship, AGSVA NV1 clearance, a valid security license, and strong customer service and communication skills. You will work on a rotating roster with 12-hour shifts and be part of a professional security team.

Qualifications

• Must hold AGSVA NV1 clearance.
• Australian citizen with full working rights in NSW.
• Hold a valid Security License (Class 1A or equivalent).
• Strong communication and observational skills.
• Experience using IT security systems and access control.

Responsibilities

• Ensure only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
• Monitor security systems (alarms, duress alarms, portals) and respond to incidents.
• Act as first responder to emergencies and administer First Aid when required.
• Conduct on-foot and CCTV patrols and identify potential hazards.
• Write detailed shift reports and provide clear handovers.

About the Role

We are excited to partner with an ASX 100-listed technology company, offering innovative data centre outsourcing solutions. Our security team is essential in maintaining data integrity and providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for visitors and contractors.

This is a casual position with 12-hour shifts rotating roster.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring only authorized personnel enter and exit restricted areas, maintaining a secure environment.
• Staying vigilant while monitoring security systems, including Class 5 alarms, duress alarms, and portal resets, responding promptly to any incidents.
• Acting as the first responder to emergencies, administering First Aid when required, and managing the situation until further assistance arrives.
• Performing on- foot and CCTV patrols of assigned areas, identifying and addressing potential hazards to ensure ongoing security.
• Writing detailed shift reports and providing clear handovers for smooth operations and continuity.

What We’re Looking For:

• Must have AGSVA NV1 Clearance.
• Experience using IT systems for security access and control
• Must be an Australian Citizen with full working rights in the respective state
• Hold a valid Security License (Class 1A or equivalent)
• Excellent communication and observational skills
• Strong customer service experience with multi-tasking abilities
• Conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and intermediate PC skills (MS Suite)
• Exceptional customer service standards, greeting visitors and assisting as needed
• Compliance with company policies and procedures
• Experience in report writing, site patrol duties, and communication via two-way radio
• Must be punctual, responsible, and lead by example, supporting a safety and compliance culture
