Job summary

Afford Disability Services is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our Homes and Living services in the Hawkesbury/ Penrith region. You will guide 4 SIL homes, lead Support Workers, and ensure safe, high‑quality, person‑centred support aligned with client goals and NDIS plans.

You will manage staffing, performance and payroll processes, build strong stakeholder relationships, and drive continuous improvement across service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Cert 3 in Disability, Aged Care or Individual Support.
  • Proven experience leading teams in disability or human services.
  • Experience managing financial performance of service delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Organised, with good time-management and prioritisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support teams of Support Workers to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred services.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, families, carers and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee onboarding and retention of clients within Homes and Living services.
  • Coordinate rostering to ensure effective staffing and client-to-staff matching.
  • Ensure services align with client goals, preferences and NDIS plans.
  • Foster a positive, values-driven culture with accountability and collaboration.
  • Monitor service quality, risks, incidents, complaints and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement using client feedback to enhance delivery.
  • Manage budgets and financial performance within your area.

We’re looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead our Homes and Living services, supporting our teams to deliver safe, high‑quality and person‑centred support to the people we serve.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager – Homes and Living, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of 4 SIL homes based in the Hawkesbury/ Penrith region and the leadership of our Support Workers.

This is a varied role where you’ll build strong relationships with clients, families, support teams and internal stakeholders, while ensuring our services are well‑run, responsive and focused on achieving positive outcomes.

You’ll play an important role in matching clients with the right support, building capable teams, managing service performance and ensuring our services meet quality, compliance and operational requirements.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead and support teams of Support Workers to deliver safe, high‑quality and person‑centred services.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, families, carers and external stakeholders.
  • Support the onboarding and retention of clients within our Homes and Living services.
  • Work closely with rostering to ensure effective staffing and client‑to‑staff matching.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with client goals, preferences and NDIS plans.
  • Lead a positive, values‑driven culture that encourages accountability, collaboration and engagement.
  • Manage staff performance, development and workforce capability.
  • Work with Head Office teams to support effective payroll, timesheet and people processes.
  • Monitor service quality, risks, incidents, complaints and compliance requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and use client feedback to improve service delivery.
  • Monitor budgets and financial performance within your area of responsibility.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider service delivery leadership team to achieve operational goals.
  • Drive between Homes and Living sites as required and undertake occasional interstate travel.
About You:

We’re looking for an experienced people leader who is passionate about disability services and enjoys making a difference through both their team and the services they deliver.

You’ll bring:

  • A minimum of Cert 3 in Disability/ Aged Care/ Individual Support and previous experience in the disability or human services sector.
  • Experience leading teams within the disability or human services sector.
  • Experience managing the financial performance of service delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of person‑centred service delivery and a commitment to achieving positive client outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with teams across the organisation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client information management systems.
  • A current First Aid Certificate.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC)/ Blue Card (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Willingness to complete a National Police Check through Afford's pre‑employment compliance process.
  • A current Australian C Class driver's licence and the ability to travel between sites.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting people with disability to exercise choice, achieve their goals and live the life they want.
