About the role
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Disability House Managers to join our team at Empowered Living Care. There are a number of full-time position based across the Sutherland Shire and Canterbury Bankstown area. As Disability House Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, leadership, and coordination of a disability support residence. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that residents receive exceptional care, support, and opportunities to achieve their personal goals within a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. This position is integral to the delivery of our services and directly impacts the quality of life for the individuals we support.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the disability support residence, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies
- Manage and supervise support workers and staff, providing direction, training, and performance management to maintain high standards of care delivery
- Develop and implement individualised support plans in consultation with residents, their families, and relevant stakeholders to ensure person-centred care
- Coordinate rostering, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure adequate staffing levels and efficient operations
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reporting in relation to resident care, incidents, and service delivery
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive living environment that promotes resident independence, dignity, and community engagement
- Conduct regular quality assurance checks and reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Liaise with families, care coordinators, health professionals, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and holistic support
- Budget management and financial oversight of the residence, including expenses, supplies, and maintenance
- Promote health and safety standards, including safeguarding, risk management, and emergency procedures
- Lead and participate in staff development, training, and team meetings to foster a culture of continuous improvement
What we're looking for
- Qualification in disability support, social work, community services, aged care management, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in disability support services, residential aged care, or community services management
- Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising teams, including staff development and performance management
- Strong knowledge of disability support frameworks, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and relevant legislative requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external partners
- Proven ability to develop and implement individualised support plans and person-centred care approaches
- Strong organisational, administrative, and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Sound financial management and budgeting experience
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel if required
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Commitment to safeguarding, duty of care, and maintaining professional boundaries
- First Aid certification or willingness to obtain as part of the role
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional after-hours availability for emergencies
- Preferred: Experience with NDIS quality and safeguarding frameworks and disability advocacy principles
