Job summary

Applejack Hospitality is seeking a Senior Sous Chef for RAFI North Sydney, a high‑performing dining destination in Sydney. As the 2IC to the Head Chef, you will lead service, drive menu development and mentor a talented team.

You will oversee kitchen operations, maintain top food quality and safety, manage stock and costs, and inspire consistency across all sections. Experience in elevated restaurants and leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Sous Chef or established Sous Chef ready to step up.
• Background in an elevated, hatted or high-performing restaurant.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with menu development, seasonal specials and execution.
• Lead kitchen operations and oversee service as the Head Chef's second-in-command.
• Mentor and develop the team, driving consistency and culinary excellence.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and food safety.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, food costs and kitchen efficiency.
