Job summary

Applejack Hospitality is seeking a Senior Sous Chef to join RAFI North Sydney. As the Head Chef’s second-in-command, you will lead kitchen operations, drive menu innovation and develop a high-performing team in Sydney’s standout dining destination.

You will mentor staff, uphold food quality and safety standards, and contribute to stock control, ordering and cost efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role in a vibrant, award-winning kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Sous Chef or ready to step up to the role.
• Background in high-performing or hatted restaurants.
• Strong leadership and ability to develop a team.
• Excellent technical skills and passion for quality produce.

Working as the 2IC to the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in leading the kitchen, driving menu innovation and developing a high-performing team in one of Sydney’s standout dining destinations.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Head Chef with menu development, seasonal specials and execution.


• Lead kitchen operations and oversee service as the Head Chef’s second-in-command.


• Mentor and develop the team, driving consistency and culinary excellence.


• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and food safety.


• Assist with stock control, ordering, food costs and kitchen efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Senior Sous Chef or an established Sous Chef ready to step up.


• Background in an elevated, hatted or high-performing restaurant.


• Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop a team.


• Excellent technical skills, attention to detail and a passion for quality produce.


• A proactive mindset and ambition to progress towards a Head Chef role.
