Chubb Australia in Sydney is seeking an accomplished underwriter with a proactive, commercially minded approach to drive profit, growth and client relationships across broker networks. The role emphasizes strong risk assessment, portfolio management and market-leading service.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, manage the book, and help deliver underwriting outcomes that align with business plans while supporting sustainable portfolio growth.

Responsibilities

• Achieve new business, rate and retention targets for the assigned book of business.
• Use portfolio analysis and retention strategies to support revenue and profit goals.
• Align book management strategy with brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor open claims and make recommendations where needed.
• Prepare for account reviews with knowledge of risk, trends and products.
• Adhere to underwriting, compliance and file documentation standards.
• Evaluate and accept/decline new lines, renewals and endorsements within delegated authority.
• Provide input on profit analysis, premium planning and market/environment analysis.
• Develop and implement business development strategies to prospect for new business across SBU/product lines and broker segments.
• Manage broker and key account relationships through proactive communication and visits.
• Visit producers to discuss risks, appetite and generate new business.
• Monitor producer performance and address gaps against underwriting and marketing goals.
