Job summary

Chubb Insurance is seeking an experienced underwriter in Brisbane to contribute to profitability through strong portfolio management, broker collaboration and rigorous risk assessment. You will target new business, retention and growth while adhering to underwriting standards and internal controls.

You will lead account planning, engage with brokers and clients, and help manage renewals, endorsements and pricing decisions. A proactive mentor role for junior underwriters is also expected.

Qualifications

• Strong underwriting judgement and commercial awareness.
• Knowledge of pricing, alternative risk transfer, reserving and key account management.
• Ability to tailor coverage and build trusted relationships with brokers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Achieve new business, rate and retention targets for the assigned portfolio and support profit and growth.
• Perform portfolio analysis and robust account planning to back growth.
• Collaborate with NUC and internal stakeholders to maintain a consistent broker approach and manage renewals and endorsements within authority.
• Follow underwriting, compliance and documentation standards and assess new business, renewals and endorsements within authority.
• Make recommendations on risks outside authority and contribute to profit, premium and market analysis.
• Meet producer targets, develop new business opportunities and manage the sales pipeline.
• Build strong broker and key account relationships through regular communication and visits.
