Job summary

Transport For NSW in Hay, NSW seeks a Civil Engineer/Project Engineer to lead planning, delivery of road infrastructure projects with safety and quality in focus. You will manage project plans, budgets and contracts, coordinating teams, contractors and service providers across the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have a four-year Civil Engineering degree, knowledge of road materials, tendering and contractor management, and a current Australian driver's licence with willingness

Qualifications

• A four-year Civil Engineering or similar degree or equivalent recognised overseas qualification.
• Knowledge of road and traffic infrastructure materials, equipment, construction methods, and maintenance practices.
• Experience working with or managing direct-control workforces in the delivery of construction and maintenance activities.
• Understanding of tendering, contract administration, procurement processes, and contractor management.
• A current Australian driver’s license and willingness to travel and work outside normal working hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of projects and programs within agreed timeframes, budgets, quality standards and scope requirements.
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and technical documentation including briefs, cost estimates, specifications and contract documentation.
• Coordinate and oversee project delivery teams, contractors, consultants, and service providers to ensure collaboration and high-quality outcomes.
• Lead the development and execution of WHS and environmental strategies with governance, reporting and risk management practices.
• Monitor project performance, risks, resources, financials and compliance with safety, environmental management and quality standards.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, providing technical advice on road safety, asset management, and network efficiency.
