Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a proactive Civil Engineer to lead infrastructure and maintenance project delivery from planning through to completion in Singleton, NSW. You will work with internal stakeholders, contractors and industry partners to ensure safety, quality, time and budget targets while improving network performance and road safety for communities.

In this role, you'll:

Play a key role in delivering infrastructure and maintenance projects from planning through to completion.

Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors and industry partners, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed scope, quality, time and budget requirements.

You will also contribute to improving network performance, asset management outcomes and road safety for the community.

More specifically you will:

• Manage the delivery of road, maintenance projects from initiation through to completion.
• Coordinate project investigations, planning and design activities, including the preparation of project scopes and cost estimates.
• Procure, manage and oversee consultants, contractors and service providers to achieve project outcomes.
• Prepare and administer contract documentation, including technical specifications and project requirements.
• Monitor project performance to ensure delivery meets agreed safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Implement effective financial controls and cost management processes across assigned projects.
• Promote and maintain high standards of workplace health and safety, environmental management and risk management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to balance road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives.

About you

You are a proactive and solutions-focused engineering professional with experience supporting the delivery of infrastructure or maintenance projects.

You are highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and confident working with a range of stakeholders.

Your strong communication skills, project management capability and commitment to safety enable you to deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex operational environment.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Have knowledge of road, bridge or traffic infrastructure construction and maintenance practices, materials and technologies.
• Demonstrated experience preparing project estimates, delivery programs and project management documentation.
• Experience working with procurement, tendering and contract management processes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in project management and information management systems and tools.
• A commitment to safety, continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes for customers and communities.
• Hold a four-year Civil Engineering degree from an Australian university or an equivalent overseas qualification.
• A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel and work outside standard hours when required.
