Job summary

Transport For NSW seeks a Project Engineer to lead planning, delivery, and governance of road and infrastructure projects in Hay, NSW. The role demands strong leadership, coordination with field teams, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. Relocation considerations may apply.

You must hold a four-year Civil Engineering degree, be willing to travel, and possess a current Australian driver’s licence to operate across sites and outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Four-year Civil Engineering or equivalent degree.
• Knowledge of road and traffic infrastructure materials, equipment, construction methods, and maintenance practices.
• Experience working with or managing direct-control workforces in the delivery of construction and maintenance activities.
• Understanding of tendering, contract administration, procurement processes, and contractor management.
• A current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel and work outside normal working hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning, execution, and delivery of projects within time, budget, scope, and quality.
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and technical docs.
• Coordinate project delivery teams, contractors, consultants, and service providers.
• Lead WHS and environmental strategies with governance, reporting, and risk management.
• Monitor performance, risks, resources, and compliance with safety and QA standards.
• Build stakeholder relationships and provide technical advice on road safety and assets.

Education
