Job summary

Transport for NSW in Singleton, NSW, is seeking a Project Engineer with civil engineering qualifications to deliver infrastructure and maintenance projects from planning through to completion.

You will work with internal stakeholders, contractors and partners to ensure safe, efficient delivery within scope, budget and schedule, while improving network performance and road safety for communities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of road, bridge or traffic infrastructure construction and maintenance practices.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing project estimates, delivery programs and project management documentation.
  • Experience working with procurement, tendering and contract management processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in project management and information management systems and tools.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.
  • Hold a four-year Civil Engineering degree from an Australian university or an equivalent overseas qualification.
  • Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel and work outside standard hours when required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of road and maintenance projects from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate investigations, planning and design activities, including scopes and cost estimates.
  • Procure, manage and oversee consultants, contractors and service providers to achieve outcomes.
  • Prepare and administer contract documentation, including technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Monitor project performance to ensure safety, quality, cost and schedule targets are met.
  • Implement effective financial controls and cost management across projects.
  • Promote high standards of workplace health and safety, environmental and risk management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to balance road safety and network efficiency objectives.

In this role, you\'ll:

Play a key role in delivering infrastructure and maintenance projects from planning through to completion.

Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors and industry partners, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed scope, quality, time and budget requirements.

You will also contribute to improving network performance, asset management outcomes and road safety for the community.

More specifically you will:
  • Manage the delivery of road, maintenance projects from initiation through to completion.

To succeed in this role, you will have:
