Design & Build are recruiting on behalf of an established Tier 2 commercial builder to appoint a Senior Project Engineer to join Canberra's growing team.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate major construction activities, manage subcontractors, drive programmes, and ensure quality, safety, and commercial objectives are achieved across $30M+ projects. Strong communication and collaboration with clients and stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within commercial construction.
• Experience delivering projects valued at $30M+.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage project delivery activities across all stages of construction.
• Develop and monitor project programmes, procurement schedules, and construction methodologies.
• Manage subcontractor performance, progress, and compliance.
• Drive quality assurance processes and ensure works are delivered to specification.
• Assist with cost control, forecasting, contract administration, and variation management.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
• Mentor and support Project Engineers and Site Engineers within the project team.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and legislative requirements.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of major construction projects from commencement through to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating project activities, managing subcontractors, driving programme outcomes, and ensuring quality, safety, and commercial objectives are achieved.

About You

• Demonstrated experience delivering projects valued at $30M+.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, programming, procurement, and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing project team.
• Previous experience working for a Tier 1, Tier 2, or reputable commercial contractor will be highly regarded.
