Approach Consulting in Canberra is seeking a Project Engineer to support pre-construction on two upcoming multi-residential developments, before transitioning the projects onto site as delivery begins.

This role suits an experienced Site Engineer ready to step up, or a current Project Engineer seeking a strong pipeline of work from pre-construction through to delivery, with mentoring and internal promotion opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years Australian construction experience on new build commercial or multi-residential projects (essential).
• Degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong understanding of pre-construction processes and documentation.
• Solid communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to transition confidently from pre-con into a site-based role.
• Experience with multi-residential or commercial builds highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support the pre-construction process across two multi-residential projects, including design coordination, documentation review, and constructability input.
• Liaise with consultants, designers, and subcontractors during the pre-con phase.
• Put together trade packages and contracts as part of the procurement process.
• Assist with procurement, scheduling, and cost planning inputs.
• Contribute to value engineering and risk identification prior to construction.
• Transition with the projects onto site, supporting delivery through to completion.
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and consultants once on site.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and program requirements.

We're looking for a Project Engineer to join the team, working across pre-construction on two upcoming multi-residential developments in Canberra, before transitioning to site as the projects move into delivery.
