Job summary

Redpath Partners seeks an experienced Senior Project Engineer to drive engineering and procurement on a major health project in Sydney. You will own key design coordination, site activities and project documentation from design development through to completion.

You will coordinate with the Project Manager, consultants and subcontractors, lead procurement and supplier management, and ensure quality and safety across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' construction experience in a Senior Project Engineer or similar role.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale building projects from commencement through to completion.
• Strong technical understanding of construction methodology, design coordination and project delivery.
• Proven procurement expertise to source materials and services efficiently and to high standards.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership across project teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Proficiency in CHEOPS, Aconex or similar construction/project management software.

Responsibilities

• Managing engineering and technical aspects from design development through construction and completion.
• Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to meet project requirements safely and to a high standard.
• Driving procurement activities including scopes of work, tendering and supplier management.
• Ensuring materials, plant and services are sourced cost-effectively and per project specs.
• Managing RFIs, technical documentation, design coordination and shop drawings.
• Monitoring progress and resolving technical and construction risks promptly.
• Collaborating with Project Manager on cost, variations and subcontractor management.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and contractual compliance.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and promoting a high-performing culture.
• Utilising CHEOPS, Aconex or similar systems to manage documentation and workflows.

My Tier 2 client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to team delivering a major health project in Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to join a high-performing project team and play a key role in the successful delivery of a complex, large-scale building project from commencement through to completion.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, site team, consultants, subcontractors and client representatives, taking ownership of key engineering, procurement, commercial and coordination activities across the project lifecycle.

About the Role

As Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Managing engineering and technical aspects of the project from design development through to construction and completion.
• Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project requirements are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Driving procurement activities, including scopes of work, tendering, subcontractor engagement, material procurement and supplier management.
• Ensuring materials, plant and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
• Managing RFIs, technical documentation, design coordination, shop drawings and construction methodologies.
• Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks and driving timely resolution of technical and construction issues.
• Working closely with the Project Manager and commercial team on project cost, variations, progress claims and subcontractor management.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring contractual and project requirements are met.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project stakeholders.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing project culture.
• Utilising construction management systems such as CHEOPS, Aconex or similar to manage project documentation, correspondence and workflows.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 8+ years' construction experience, with a proven track record in a Senior Project Engineer or similar role.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale building projects from commencement through to completion.
• Strong technical understanding of construction methodology, design coordination and project delivery.
• Demonstrated procurement expertise, with the ability to source materials and services efficiently, competitively and to high-quality standards.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills, with experience working collaboratively across project teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Proficiency in CHEOPS, Aconex or similar construction/project management software.
• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership, make sound decisions and drive outcomes.
