BHP's Prominent Hill Copper‑gold operation in South Australia is seeking a Lead Production Engineer to lead drilling, blasting and production planning across underground mining. Reporting to the Superintendent Production and Survey, you will mentor the Production Engineering team and drive safety, performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Underground, hard rock, metalliferous mining experience with a tertiary qualification.
• Underground practical experience completed.
• Experience in drill and blast design in sub-level open stoping.
• Experience with short/medium-term scheduling is advantageous.
• Proven ability to build relationships across stakeholders.
• Commitment to safe production and processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drilling, blasting and production planning design.
• Liaise with stakeholders to meet site requirements.
• Conduct regular field time to ensure drill/blast activities meet safety and QA.
• Review drilling, blasting and production plans.
• Review stope reconciliations/abandonments and identify improvements.
• Manage and monitor iKon III system.
• Deliver mine production projects for readiness.
• Monitor task progression against schedules.
• Lead incident investigations for safety improvements.
• Mentor and develop the Production Engineering team.
