Job summary

BHP Group seeks a Superintendent Mining Execution at Olympic Dam, SA. You will lead a large, diverse underground operations team, focusing on safe, reliable and efficient outcomes across services, production or development.

Reporting to the Manager Mine Services, you’ll drive safety, coaching, and continuous improvement while managing complex workflows on an 8 days on/6 days off roster at Olympic Dam. Demonstrated experience in underground mine services, production or development, plus tertiary

Qualifications

• Experience leading underground mining operations with large, diverse teams.
• Ability to coach, mentor and develop frontline leadership across multiple work groups.
• Strong commitment to safety leadership, risk management and critical control effectiveness.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and deliver outcomes across technical and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safety-focused culture with open communication and proactive hazard management.
• Drive safety performance and lead investigations within frontline leadership teams.
• Lead and develop a diverse workforce with coaching and succession planning.
• Set operational priorities and align with departmental objectives and BHP values.
• Ensure consistent application of mining execution processes and standards.
• Oversee underground work across mine services, production or development.
• Build partnerships to resolve challenges and deliver customer-focused outcomes.
• Improve performance through resource planning, schedule discipline and execution reliability.
• Champion BOS-driven continuous improvement for safety and cost efficiency.
