Job summary

BHP Group is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for Prominent Hill, Australia. The role involves underground geotechnical input, ground support design, QA/QC, and monitoring to enable safe mine execution. FIFO 8/6 roster from Adelaide or Port Augusta, located at Prominent Hill in South Australia.

You will lead projects, liaise with technical teams, and drive continuous improvement in geotechnical practices while delivering quality outcomes for the Copper SA operation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Mining Engineering or related field.
• Underground mining geotechnical experience required.
• Experience managing small-to-medium geotechnical projects in mining/construction setting.
• Familiarity with geotechnical design, monitoring software and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct underground inspections and provide ground support recommendations.
• Interpret geotechnical monitoring data and inform short/long-term mine plans.
• Lead geotechnical projects with timelines and budgets; produce reports and business cases.
