Job summary

Prominent Hill, part of BHP, offers a challenging role for a senior mining engineer to lead underground mine development and drill-and-blast design. You will mentor engineers, align production plans with safety standards, and drive performance improvements in collaboration with the Production and Survey teams.

The role focuses on integrating planning, scheduling, and field execution to deliver operational readiness and long-term mine life at Prominent Hill, SA, Australia.

Qualifications

• Underground hard rock mining background with a tertiary degree.
• Experience in drill and blast design in sub-level open stoping.
• Experience leading technical professionals with mentoring and coaching.
• Short and medium-term scheduling experience is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drilling, blasting and production plans.
• Lead drill and blast design to meet site requirements.
• Provide field QA/QC and mentor Production Engineering team.
• Engage frontline crews and planning to develop plans and forecasts.
• Assess equipment capability and develop operating standards and work instructions.
• Contribute to safety improvement and site performance.
