Couchbase, the operational data platform for AI, is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer (Pre-Sales) to drive technical engagements from discovery to PoC. The role focuses on customers who interact with applications via code, requiring deep software development experience and strong communication skills.

Based in Australia with option for Sydney or Melbourne, you will map business challenges to Couchbase solutions, present differentiators, and collaborate with Sales to identify

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Pre-Sales/Consulting roles
• 3+ years software development experience
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases or distributed systems
• Excellent presentation skills with ability to present technical solutions clearly
• Proficiency in major programming languages and cloud services
• Experience designing solutions on major DB platforms (data modeling, indexing, query optimization)

Responsibilities

• Operate in a consultative process with customers to define challenges and opportunities.
• Map challenges to Couchbase ecosystem by presenting differentiating value.
• Educate customers and challenge assumptions while delivering value.
• Present Art of the Possible and discuss innovative solutions.
• Support technical and business discovery activities including workshops and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with Sales on account strategy and identify opportunities in accounts.
• Ensure success of PoC/Pilots through managing acceptance criteria and resolutions.
• Deliver engaging company/product presentations and demonstrations.
• Explain Couchbase ecosystem to managers, architects and developers.
• Be the technical product expert and stay up-to-date on competitive landscape.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to represent customer feedback.
• Create internal/external collateral like deployment architectures and best practices.
