Job summary

Couchbase is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer in Australia to drive and manage technical components of sales engagements. You will explain Couchbase advantages, map customer challenges to our ecosystem, and deliver compelling demonstrations across enterprise opportunities.

The role requires hands-on software development experience, strong presentation skills, and deep knowledge of cloud platforms, NoSQL databases, and data modeling. Sydney or Melbourne location.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a Pre-Sales/Customer-Facing/Consulting Role.
• 3+ years of experience in software development.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other distributed high-performance systems.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present technical solutions to all audiences from development teams to C-Suite.
• Passion for solving customer challenges through technical solutions.
• Programming skills in Java, Python, Javascript, .NET, C, or SQL.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience designing solutions on major database platforms including data modeling, indexes and query optimization.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a consultative process with customers and prospects to define challenges and opportunities.
• Map challenges to the Couchbase Ecosystem by presenting differentiating business value.
• Educate customers as a trusted advisor and challenge assumptions while delivering value.
• Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations of our product.
• Support discovery activities including workshops and demos across opportunities.
• Collaborate with the sales team on account strategy and identify opportunities.
• Ensure PoC/Pilot success through managing acceptance criteria and issue escalation.
• Work with managers, architects and developers to explain Couchbase Ecosystem.
