Couchbase is hiring in Australia for a Solution Architect/Pre-Sales Engineer focused on pre-sales activities and technical engagements. The role involves mapping customer challenges to Couchbase solutions, leading technical demonstrations, and collaborating with sales to identify opportunities across accounts.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in pre-sales or consulting, 3+ years in software development, and strong cloud and NoSQL experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a Pre-Sales/Customer-Facing/Consulting Role
• 3+ years of experience in software development or related industries
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other distributed high-performance systems
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present technical solutions concisely
• Programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, .NET, C or SQL
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience in designing solutions on major database platforms including data modeling, indexes and query optimization

Responsibilities

• Operate in a consultative process with customers to define challenges and opportunities.
• Map challenges to Couchbase Ecosystem by presenting differentiating business value.
• Educate and become a trusted advisor to deliver value to prospects and customers.
• Present art of the possible and think outside the box for solutions.
• Support workshops, demonstrations, across multiple opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales on account strategy and identify opportunities.
• Ensure PoC/Pilot success through acceptance criteria and issue resolution.
• Develop and deliver engaging company/product presentations and demonstrations.
• Explain Couchbase Ecosystem to all technical levels from managers to developers.
• Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering from the field.
