Sheet Metal Solutions in Riverstone, NSW, is seeking a Senior Laser Programmer / CAD Draftsman to join our team. You will translate customer drawings into production-ready designs and programs, focusing on efficient laser cutting, bending and fabrication.

The role requires strong sheet metal manufacturing knowledge, CAD programming experience and the ability to work closely with production to ensure accuracy and on-time manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Strong background in sheet metal manufacturing, CAD programming or mechanical drafting.
• Experience with laser cutting, CNC bending and sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience programming CNC laser cutting machines and using TRUMPF software.

Responsibilities

• CAD drafting and sheet metal design.
• Prepare and process customer drawings for manufacture.
• Program and nest for TRUMPF laser cutting machines.
• Prepare and process production work orders.
• Review drawings, DXF files and customer specifications.
• Develop parts and assemblies for laser cutting and bending.
• Ensure designs and programs enable efficient manufacture.
• Work closely with laser, bending and fabrication teams.
• Identify manufacturing issues before production.
• Assist with material utilisation, nesting and production efficiency.
• Maintain accurate job and drawing information.
