Job summary

Prince Fabrications Pty Ltd in Wetherill Park NSW is seeking a Tube Laser Operator/Programmer to own the tube laser cell. You will program and nest parts from drawings and NC/STP files, and set up the machine for RHS, SHS, pipe, angle, channel and beam sections.

You will load/unload, QA check against drawings, complete dimensional check sheets, and assist with basic maintenance and consumables, coordinating with the workshop manager to prioritise jobs.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a tube laser or flatbed laser.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings confidently.
• Experience with laser nesting/CAM software, or ability to pick it up quickly.
• Good eye for quality and accuracy — parts go straight to fabrication or out the door to customers.
• Reliable, self-motivated, able to run the cell without supervision.
• Forklift licence is an advantage.

About us

Prince Fabrications is a structural steel and stainless pipework fabrication business based at Wetherill Park. We run a 5-axis 6kW fibre tube laser alongside a full fabrication workshop, serving clients across construction, mining, and industrial equipment. We hold CC2 (AS/NZS 5131) and ISO 3834.2 certification.

The role

We're looking for a tube laser operator/programmer to take ownership of our tube laser cell. Day to day you'll be:

• Programming and nesting parts from customer drawings and NC/STP files
• Setting up and running the machine across RHS, SHS, pipe, angle, channel and beam sections
• Loading, unloading and QA checking parts against drawings
• Completing dimensional check sheets and maintaining job paperwork
• Basic machine maintenance and consumables management
• Working with the workshop manager to schedule and prioritise jobs

What we're after

• Experience operating a tube laser or flatbed laser (tube laser preferred, but we'll train the right person coming from flatbed)
• Ability to read fabrication drawings confidently
• Experience with laser nesting/CAM software, or the aptitude to pick it up quickly
• Good eye for quality and accuracy — parts go straight to fabrication or out the door to customers
• Reliable, self-motivated, able to run the cell without someone standing over you
• Forklift licence an advantage
