Job summary

Octopus1 in Melbourne seeks an experienced Electrical Engineering leader to own and manage the electrical scope across a portfolio of renewable energy projects, from generation/storage through grid connection, spanning pre-acquisition due diligence, design, procurement, construction and operations.

You will mentor colleagues, develop governance templates for HV/MV systems, review designs and contractor submissions, and coordinate design reviews, site inspections and workshops with civil, grid,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated electrical engineering experience on utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Experience with EPC contractors, engineering consultancies or developers.
• Proven involvement from design through handover to operations.

Responsibilities

• Own scope, budget, schedule, HSE, risks and quality of the electrical scope across projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to improve electrical standards and governance.
• Review design submissions, RFIs, variations and non-conformances with risk management.
• Coordinate design reviews, site inspections and workshops.
• Prepare/review SLDs, cable layouts, protection philosophies, BOMs and specs.
• Manage OEM and contractor performance from design through to operation.
