Job summary

VT Freight Express is seeking an experienced Client Manager to maintain and grow an existing portfolio. You’ll build trusted relationships, coordinate with Operations, and drive account growth through proactive service and negotiation.

In this role you’ll manage day-to-day client requirements, plan regular meetings, prepare reports, and collaborate with Finance and Sales on contracts and renewals. Strong communication and planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in sales or client account management.
• Strong customer service and client relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of transport industry, parcel and pallet delivery.
• Experience in account management and negotiation.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the business.
• Proactive approach to solving problems and identifying opportunities.
• Strong planning, organisation and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day requirements of your client portfolio.
• Building ongoing relationships through proactive contact and an understanding of each client’s business needs.
• Planning and conducting daily client meetings, with appointments scheduled at least a week in advance and relevant information recorded.
• Following up on customer requests and outstanding issues, keeping clients informed through to resolution.
• Working closely with Operations and sharing customer feedback daily.
• Preparing customer reports on a regular basis or as required, with authorisation from the Head of Sales & Systems.
• Managing operational reports and communicating relevant information to customers.
• Collaborating with Finance and Sales on contracts, renewals, account adjustments and customer information.
• Identifying opportunities to introduce additional VTFE services.
• Generating opportunities through referrals and proactive prospecting and communicating potential new business to the Head of Sales & Systems.
