Job summary

VT Freight Express in Melbourne’s Southeast is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join our Sales team. You will identify and secure new opportunities, grow our customer base and promote our full range of freight services.

You will work closely with customers to understand requirements and provide tailored solutions. You’ll manage negotiations, prepare proposals and pricing, and maintain accurate sales records while collaborating with internal teams to deliver a positive customer

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in business development, sales or account management.
• Experience within transport, freight, parcel or pallet delivery.
• Strong relationship management, communication and negotiation skills.
• A customer service focus with a practical approach to solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and securing new business opportunities across our freight services.
• Building and maintaining relationships with prospective and existing customers.
• Understanding customer needs and preparing tailored proposals and pricing.
• Managing negotiations, proposals and converting opportunities into ongoing business.
• Achieving sales targets in line with company budgets and commercial requirements.
• Working closely with internal teams to support a positive customer experience.
• Reviewing sales performance and market activity to identify further opportunities.
• Keeping customer information, sales activity and reporting accurate and up to date.
• Representing VT Freight Express professionally with customers and industry contacts.
